Call for aid

On December 1st, 2024, a “day of the open door” took place in Dellbrück. We, too, were invited to open our museum. We gladly followed this call. The interest in our museum made us happy. But we needed to note that even to some Dellbrück locals our museum was not knows. Nonetheless, the visits and the comments on that day recompensed us.

We have the regrettable issue that one can barely find us in the industrial estate resp. no one knows us.

If people are constantly passing a place, it gets known. So are the Museum Ludwig, the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, the Roman-Germanic Museum or the Chocolate Museum known. Each is funded either by public institutions, a funding corporation or a company.

Our museum is kept running by a dozen of amateurs of radio and electronics technology from the beginning of the radio, also with regard to the face that a lot of radio and television stations are based in Cologne. WERAG aired a scheduled radio programme already from 1926 in the Raderthal radio centre. Unfortunately, the station equipment has been dismounted already, the former station building is being conserved as monument, but decays more and more.

Now comes our call for help

The tenant would like to refurbish our current museum and storage premises. Because of that, we are looking for different premises which we are able to pay, in which we may perform our exhibition, guides, restauration and repairs. As we are a non-profit organisation, we cannot afford a rent in the dimensions of an industrial company.

We would be happy to receive support in that sense. Moreover, we are looking for followers interested in tube and early transistor technology who would like to take also a moldering iron in the hand.
